HIDES > SHOREBIRD HIDE (HUNGARY)

Location and installation year:
This hide is mobile and located every year where good feeding conditions can be found for shorebirds. It is most often positioned on a muddy edge of some temporary pool. It was created in 2011.

Access:
Variable but usually 100-150 meter walk in knee-deep water and wellington boots needed.

Size and style:
It is 200 cm wide, 200 cm long and 125 cm high. It has two 100 cm by 50 cm photo-through windows but these windows can be opened and substituted with canvas or curtain. The bottom of the hide is about 10 cm above water level so it is possible to make pictures from very low outlook. The hide is standing on pillars. The height of the hides can be changed as the pillar system is changeable. The hide is best if photographers lying on the mattresses but also usable with low chairs. It is comfortable for two photographers.

Comfort and accessories:
- Curtains
- Mattress
- Wellington boots
- Bean bags

Regulation:
Hide can be entered anytime but best before dawn. We usually recommend 4-5 hours in a row once entered but certainly not very comfortable for all day as best to use is when lying.

Recommended Photo Equipment:
All sort of lenses recommended but 500 mm and 600 mm are the best. Also 300 mm lens with extenders or crop bodies.
