BEFORE OR AFTER YOUR DANUBE DELTA TOUR! This short photo break to capture wild Brown Bears from our special photo hides. This trip would only add 2 extra days on your photography tour. If you already in Romania with us why not elongate your tour!? The Carpathian Mountains holds Europe biggest Brown Bear population and during the Spring/Summer period this lovely animals usually present in front of our hides daily!
Timing: Right before or after your Danube Delta Photo Tour.
Duration: 3 days (2 nights)
Accommodation and Road Transport:
Our accommodation is in the closest available good quality rural Hotel to the bear hides to minimize travel. The hotel has en-suite facilities and WiFi internet. Transfer from Airport to Airport will be with an independent transport company with comfortable cars.
Walking:
The walking effort is minimized to ca. 300 m uphill walk to the Bear hides. Depending on your conditions this will take 10 to 20 minutes.
What to bring:
tripod, binocular, proper clothing, torch
Climate:
The temperature in May, June and July usually warm but even so you need some warm clothing early in the morning and/or late afternoon. Avoid noisy `wind stopper` clothing and rather use soft, silent jackets.
Recommended behavior:
Please follow our guide instructions in the way up to the hide. Try to be as silent as possible and in the hide act slowly and silently. Usually the bears are not shy but they can hear every knock even through the closed window. If the wind direction is downslope you are able to use the camouflage window without glass.

Detailed Itinerary
When your Danube Delta Photo tour will end in Bucharest you will be transferred to Transylvania`s Harghita Mountains where you stay 2 nights in a nice rural area, close to Zetea village.
Day 1. Bucharest – Zetea journey usually takes 4 hours depending on the traffic across the Carpathians. You will meet with our guide in the accommodation than as soon as you are ready he will take you to the closest Bear Photo Hide which is only 10 minutes away. The photography depends on the wind direction: can be trough glass window or an open camouflage window.
Day 2. We going to have two photo session during your full day. The first session early in the morning between 6.00 until 10.00 and the second from early afternoon until the last lights. We could be using different hides throughout your stay but this will all depends on the bear activity.
Day 3. After breakfast we will return you to Bucharest where this extension will end. In case the participants have a late afternoon flight you can use our bird hides in the Hargita Bear Lodge garden for a last session.
